About

I'm Erica Chenard — founder of ECS Growth.

My career has spanned strategy, operations, and ecommerce. I now work with founders building DTC brands and the SaaS companies that serve them.

Background

I spent the last five years leading ecommerce at Fellow, the beloved coffee gear brand, where I owned the DTC P&L and built the team and systems that carried the business through its fastest-growing years. Before that, I led product strategy at Under Armour, spent four years in corporate strategy at Exelon, and started my career at Goldman Sachs.

That arc shapes how I work. Finance and corporate strategy taught me how to tackle ambiguity — to break a messy situation into its parts, pressure-test the assumptions, and build a go-forward plan that holds up under scrutiny. Under Armour gave me the muscle for operating at scale: how product, merchandising, and marketing actually fit together inside a global consumer brand. And Fellow was where I learned what it takes to build something while running it — to make calls with imperfect information, to know which decisions deserve a forecast and which deserve a gut check, and to lead a team through real growth. Along the way, I led the company's $30M Series B — a chapter that crystallized for me how operating decisions and capital strategy fit together.

The work I do sits at the intersection of two things many consultants treat separately: rigorous strategic thinking and hands-on operating execution. Founders building serious businesses need both, often from the same person, often at the same time.

How I engage

I work with a small number of clients at a time, in three ways.

  • Ecommerce advisor

to DTC brands that need a senior operator, not a full-time hire.

  • GTM partner

to ecommerce SaaS companies selling into the teams I used to lead.

  • Embedded execution partner

to founders who need a chief of staff–style operator, not just an outside voice.

If any of that sounds like the partner you're looking for, I'd love to talk.
